The Allegory of The Cave was a conversation between Socrates (philosopher, teacher) and Glaucon (student). Socrates tried to explain to Glaucon that for people who live in the cave, the world is a shadow. Also he tried to convince him to imagine that now is the reality and what before in the cave was an illusion or a lie. Glaucon has a different idea about reality and he refuses the reality. He believes that reality is a shadow and nothing else because he was living in a cave and he was used to it. But when he came out of the cave after long time he realized that Socrates was right. Now Glaucon feels sorry for the other people who live in the cave and he wants to help them. The allegory of the cave is to warn you, and if you going to warn them about reality maybe is going to cost you. Sometimes for these people it’s hard for them to accept the truth and take in something different in their lives, because they were used to their surroundings and those were the only one they knew.
