in the movie Matrix and the play Oedipus the king have some similarities.  we can say that Neo and Oedipus both lives in ignorance and they are thirsty for knowledge.  both of them do not want other people to tell them who they are but they wanted to find out by their selves.  in the movie matrix Neo refused to believe the reality and he influence by ignorance.Oedipus  supposed to kill his father and marry his mother but he refused it and he avoid the prophecy.  at the end by ignoring the prophesy he did the wrong thing and he run away from the reality. also Neo was the ONE.  and everything came true for them.  they had some differences between these two, how they r handle the knowledge.  Neo tried to took his responsibility and Oedipus took his eyes out and he tried to punish his Self.
